As I compose this message today, I am taking a moment to praise God for all of the blessings he has bestowed upon me. I'm sure that I am giving thanks today for some of the very same things that many of you are giving thanks for:

God and the gift of his Son
Health
Family
Career
The ability to give to those in need
Love
Music
The list goes on.

But I also give thanks today for all of you.

You see, I started the 5-A-Day Club in March of 1999. By November of that same year, there were already 100 5-A-Day Club members, but our presence on the web was just a personal web page with no public outreach. I set some goals for growth at that time which included developing the 5-A-Day Club into a full featured web site, creating an easy to remember URL address, listing the site with the major search engines and indexes, and working to double the size of our subscriber base within a period of one year.

A year has passed, and we have reached ALL of our goals, and we are enjoying about 1500 hits per month from web surfers who are looking for ways to study God's word, apply his principles to their lives, and seek first his kingdom on a daily basis... praise the Lord!

Do you need some help deciding what you should be thankful for?

Here are some thoughts to get you started:

If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married... you are very rare.

If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful... you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder...you are blessed because you can offer healing touch.

If you own just one Bible you are abundantly blessed. Over one third of all the world does not have access to one.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, there are more than two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
