It is for this reason that the Reorganized CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints was so often confused with the Utah Mormon Church.

On April 7, 2000, the RLDS World Conference passed a resolution to change the RLDS church name to Community of Christ, effective April 6, 2001.

Joseph and his wife Emma, lived here in the early years of the church. It was their son, Joseph III, born in this building in 1832, who "reorganized" the church after his father's death.
