Liberty Hall
Liberty Hall as it appeared while the home of Joseph Smith III and his family, from 1881 to 1905. The house was sold after the headquarters of the RLDS Church was moved to Independence, Missouri, and was used as a home on a dairy farm, and as a convalescent center. In order to comply with capacity regulations during that time, the main stairway was moved, an additional entrance was constructed, and a fire escape was added.

The RLDS Church bought the house back and restored it to it's original layout and it now functions as a museum for RLDS and Joseph Smith III and family artifacts.

Our tour guide while we were visiting Liberty Hall was Velton Peabody.   I had already "met" Velton through the Internet due to his extensive RLDS Links Website... I just didn't know what he looked like, and so it took some time for us to realize that we already "knew" each other.

It was great meeting Velton in person.
